Kaizen logo / intro video

So, along with gaming, I'm also into 3d design and graphic work, I was debating about making a few differnet logo designs for Kaizen Gamine (not that the current one is bad) but just to have a few for later use, all with the same basic circle design. Also I saw the tempest video that someone posted and saw mentioned somewhere that it should be uploaded to the Kaizen youtube channel (btw does anyone have a link for that channel), so I was thinking that I could also make some type of intro for all the videos, maybe a spinning circle that would revolve around the word Kaizen, with flashy effects or something along those lines . Any thoughts? Suggestions?

We've been looking into this quite a bit. Unfortunately, until you posted this we didn't really have anyone who was brilliant at intros and such.

A member tried out sony vegas for us (feedur) but he isn't too used to it and ended up producing this;



Personally, the idea with the animated circle is brilliant so something along the lines of that with a more animated text input would be great!

Logo wise, it's the same thing, we could do with one that we can use for forum avatars and such. I'm thinking red and black? with a modern take still keeping in with the circle?

There my ideas anyway, looking forward to other suggestions and seeing some examples!

Anyhow, the circle-idea kinda goes great with the kaizen symbolics and is very easy to do, but if you have a better idea feel free to blow us away.

In the end, seeing as you're the experienced one in 3d programs etc, just go with whatever you feel looks proper and we'll criticize in time

Ya I'll start making them soon, I just finished with midterms week so my mind has been blown, but as soon as it's back up and running i'll post some WIPs.

So, I've come up with a couple ideas for the intro video while sitting at work, hopefully I'll be able to make 2 or 3 more, but for now I have 2 main ideas. I'll post a temporary image of the thumbnails below and I'll upload a high res picture later. *edit* uploaded a higher res photo. *edit*



So, as I know that are hard to see I'll describe what is happening.

In the the first board, we have a scene at night with a starry background and you'll hear a wooshing/whining sound coming from the sky, then what looks like a half comet half UFO will come spinning down with smoke and maybe fire trailing behind it and smash into the earth creating flying debris and cracks in the ground, it will be spinning on it's y-axis as it hits and slow to a stop revealing Kaizen Gaming in the middle of it at the same time the background around it will fade to black.

In the second (which I think is cooler :p ) we have a kind of machine room with a mechanical box in the center and an overhead light that only provides a small amount of light, the box's top will slide open (mechanically somehow, I'm still debating the best method for this) revealing a spinning circle with projector nodes on it, then in the air above a hologram will appear with Kaizen Gaming written in some hologram color. Finally the overhead light will break leaving only the logo visible, until the machine stops working and everything fades to black. Any suggestions / comments and or new story lines will be appreciated, as this has to be accepted by the majority

I fleshed out the second idea a bit more with a few textures and more advanced lighting, a hologram test will be soon to come.

A few new updates for the day, got a few more textures on and some temp textures as well, I'm also dabbling in the smoke/particle effects before I move on to finalizing all the textures and what not, I also have some of the animation done, but i'll show that a bit later, just for comparison i'm gonna post a pic of the project in 3ds max and then a rendered image, any suggestions are welcome, especially if you want more stuff added to the scene or whatever.

Looking amazing to be honest.. Maybe give it a cool effect when the lid opens?

Really loving the first one you posted in the seperate post. Any chance you could make a smaller logo version of it for avatar's perhaps? could you also try and blend the borders so it looks less like a box?

Unfortunately my main rig decided to die on me, so no new progress to report, I have the files saved and a new parts on the way, decided to go for an upgrade with 16 gigs 1866 ddr3 ram, fx-8150 3.6 GHz processor, and a new mobo, hopefully I can get some new pics up by Friday.
